When each board’s papers become free

  • Cambridge International : For each syllabus, Cambridge’s public site has one exam series: the June 2024 series, with one version of each paper, its mark scheme and an examiner report. It also has specimen papers for the current syllabus.
  • AQA : AQA releases each June series one year later: the June 2025 papers went public in July 2026.
  • Pearson Edexcel : Pearson locks papers from roughly the most recent 12 months for teachers. After that, anyone can open them free on Pearson’s site.
  • OCR : OCR first gives each series to schools for mock exams. About 14 months after the exam, it goes on OCR’s public site and stays there for at least five years, and longer for maths and science.

So the newest exams are never on the public sites straight away. Each board puts a series on its own site first.

How this site works

We cover 55 subjects across four boards. For AQA and OCR we list the papers series by series, each opening on the board’s own website. For Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel we say what each exam contains and link to the board’s own past papers page for it. We never copy board papers, because the boards do not allow it. The Singapore prelim papers are different: they are school papers from our own collection, so you can open them here.

Questions people ask

Are these past papers really free?

Yes. Every board paper listed here is one the board itself gives away free on its own website. We link to it; we never charge, and there is no sign-up.

Why does a paper open on another website?

Exam boards own their papers and do not allow copies on other sites. So we find them for you and link to the board’s own file or page. That way you always get the board’s latest, correct version.

Why can’t I find the newest papers?

Boards keep their newest papers for teachers for a while, so schools can use them as mock exams. AQA releases each June series a year later, Pearson after about 12 months, and OCR after about 14 months. Cambridge shows only its June 2024 series and specimen papers to the public.

Where are the mark schemes?

Next to each question paper. For AQA and OCR, each series here lists the question papers with their mark schemes and examiner reports. On Pearson’s and Cambridge’s own pages, the mark schemes sit beside the papers.

Do you have Singapore O Level papers?

We have Singapore G3 (O Level) prelim papers: practice exams set by secondary schools in the O Level format, with answers. We do not post the national O Level papers themselves.
