What the Physics exam contains

Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625), on the 2026 to 2028 syllabus, has three exams. Core students sit Paper 1 (45 minutes of multiple choice) and Paper 3 (a 1 hour 15 minute theory paper) and can reach grades C to G. Extended students sit the matching Papers 2 and 4 and can reach A* to G. Everyone also sits one practical paper: the Practical Test in the lab (Paper 5, 1 hour 15 minutes) or the written Alternative to Practical (Paper 6, 1 hour). The three parts count 30%, 50% and 20%. Topics: motion, forces and energy; thermal physics; waves; electricity and magnetism; nuclear physics; and space physics.
