What the Physics exam contains
Cambridge International AS & A Level Physics (9702), on the 2025 to 2027 syllabus, has five papers. The AS Level is Paper 1 (multiple choice, 1 hour 15 minutes), Paper 2 (structured questions, 1 hour 15 minutes) and Paper 3 (practical skills in the lab, 2 hours). The full A Level adds Paper 4 (structured questions on the A Level topics, 2 hours) and Paper 5 (planning, analysis and evaluation, 1 hour 15 minutes). A Level topics include circular motion, gravitational and electric fields, thermal physics, oscillations, capacitance, magnetism, quantum and nuclear physics, medical physics, and astronomy.
